Capsule wardrobe day 2 +my 37 pieces and outfit combinations

Day 2 started out great! I actually thought I was done....and then I realized my capsule contained a few too many items. 37 items isn't that many and I would have to be really thoughtful about the items I included in my capsule. SOOOOOO I literally pulled my entire capsule out of my closet and threw it on my bed. I started by trying on all of my shoes, hats, pants, skirts, dresses, tops, sweaters and jackets. I tried to make outfit combinations starting with my bottoms and trying to get at least three different looks using the same pair of jeans, pants, or skirt. YES...This was time consuming but it made me realize that some of my items didn't fit into my capsule as well as I thought they did and made the narrowing down process a lot easier.  It also made me realize that I had hundreds of possibilities with such few pieces. I could have spent hours making different outfits. Honestly I love this sort of thing and had a lot of fun mixing and matching all my clothes:)

I ended up with 35 items total BUT... I'm still shopping for those last two items. I still need the perfect cardigan to layer over tees and tanks and a silk lace trim camisole that I can wear under jackets and sweaters and also wear with my pencil skirt for a dressier look. But these are the items I currently have in my capsule...

15 tops

7 bottoms

7 shoes

3 jackets

3 dresses

Accessories

so technically accessories don't count as part of your capsule but I still wanted to keep mine to a minimum and very cohesive with the rest of my stuff.

Just a few of the outfits I put together

The possibilities are endless...

I will keep you posted as I'm getting used to this new style of minimalism and fashion but I can already tell that this is going to be a very good thing for me. Do you want to quit impulse buying? Do you want quality that you love or so-so pieces hardly get worn? Do you want to spend less time getting ready in the morning? Save money? If so....Join me!!! If you have any questions about starting a capsule wardrobe, resources, good places to shop, etc... drop me a comment below;) I know I had tons when I first started so don't hesitate to ask.

If the product  I linked isn't the exact item I have searched high and low to find something very similar.
